Our Process

First, we start with a molded core made of high-quality, clear paraffin. The core is dipped in hot, colored wax, and then cooled by dipping into cold water. This process is repeated until 30 - 35 layers of colored wax are added to the core. Besides adding the color to the candle, the dipping incorporates heat into the candle as well. While the candle is warm from the dipping process, it is carved using simple tools and artistic expertise. The carving must be finished in approximately 15 minutes or the wax will become too cool and hard to carve.

The carving process exposes both the layers of colored wax, and the original clear core underneath. When our candles are lit, the light from the flame will travel through the clear core, allowing light to show through the designs.
