I have never written a company over their product but first off I would like to thank you for your easy ordering website and your friendly and helpful customer service, but most of all I would like to say I am so very impressed with the candle I ordered. I had seen your short bit on the "How its made" program and was very impressed by the skill and design ( I just wish I had gotten the Mushroom candle that was made from the drippings to go with it) after visiting your website a number of times I decided to order one for my wives birthday. Well I will have to say I believe I am more taken back and in love with it than she is don't get me wrong she loves it and made me look good for her birthday but this is the most beautiful piece of hand crafted item I own.. I am very impressed and pleased with the candle and having the extra LED light that flickers just puts it over the top. Thank you so very much for the wonderful candle artwork that you produce. I have told many co-workers and have even taken them to the web site to show them the video and the different candle designs and colors. I promise you that this is not the last one I order from you I have already picked a Christmas one out to my wife for me for my birthday in august so I have it to show off at Christmas, I just have to have it and my mother in law will be receiving a special one as well. I would like to know what you do with the Mushroom ones you make with the drippings that is shown on the video and how we could get these to go with the ones I order so they match my order so if you could let me know I would be grateful. Again thank you for such a beautiful piece of art work I could not be more pleased by it. ~Kip V., A Note from Holland House Candles: As far as the mushrooms are concerned, yes, we do sell them at the shop for $2. We do not offer them online because of the wide variations in size/shape/color, we just don't think that photos would effectively convey an accurate description of every mushroom. Also, the mushrooms are truly not meant to be burned. If lit, they will drip and generally make a little mess. That said, if you would like to purchase the mushroom that comes from your candle next time you order, just request it in the "Comments" box and let us know it is OK to charge your card for the extra $2. We can fit a mushroom in the box with your candle if you order a small or a medium size, but cannot fit a mushroom in the box with a large size candle. |

Just wanted to let you know that our candle, etc. arrived safely on Feb. 4, via UPS. We, like so many others, must comment on the superb job of packaging which your company did. We've never seen anything fragile packed like that. On opening the package we can only say that the beauty of the candle is "breathtaking". It is even more beautiful than the video shows and surely is a true "work of art". If you know which person actually created the candle for us, we wish you would thank him or her for us for the outstanding We have two questions. What is the best way to remove the little electric candle from the top of the large candle. It appears that one must turn the large candle upside down to allow the little electric candle to gently fall out (for recharging, etc.). Perhaps there is a better/safer way to do this. Also, should the electric candle be recharged in the on or off position or does it matter? Thanks again for the beautiful (understatement) candle. We love it and can't wait to show it to our children and friends. No doubt it will generate more orders for you. Sincerly, ~Dan and Dottie B. A note from Holland House Candles: we welcome the opportunity to share a little hint that was given to us by a valued customer (Thanks Bernie!!). If you want to take the LED out of the candle without picking up the candle and turning it over, take a common tube from an empty roll of toilet paper, slit it lengthwise, and work it down around the LED when it is in the candle. If you pinch the toilet paper tube and lift, the LED will come right out!! Bernie was a genius to think of this and we are happy to share his hint. I know that you all are very busy at this time of year, but I wanted to take a moment to tell you all thank you. I ordered 2 of your candles back on November 5, 2011. One was shipped to my mother in Tennessee and the other to my mother-in-law in Mississippi. When I called to ask if they could be held and shipped closer to Christmas, the gentleman said that it was possible and to just notate it in the notes section of the orders. Both of them told me how beautiful their candles were and couldn't quit talking about how they are so breathtaking. I had both of them go to your site and watch the "How it's Made" video. My husband and I honeymooned in Holland, MI (We live in Grand Rapids). When we visited the Dutch Village I looked for your store straightaway. The ladies making the candles were very polite and didn't mind me watch them make the candles for a good half hour. My parents have a candle from you that they got 25 years ago when they were married, it's beautiful and I knew I wanted one as well. My husband bought me the Sweetheart Flare with tapers. The white and red/burgandy coloring is very striking. We lit the pillar because you can replace the candle in the center, but could never bring ourselves to light the tapers. The candles are glorious and last for generations. Earlier this month, I ordered one of your Dutch Garden ribbon style candles as a birthday present for my mother. Her birthday is at the end of this month. The candle arrived just yesterday and I was really impressed with both the delivery time and the care with which the candle was packed for shipping. Little more than one week passed between when I placed the order and the candle arrived at my doorstep. I noticed your candles being made on a French Canadian programme called How its Made, being shown by the Discovery Channel, which showed how the process taken to make the candle. It was this short documentary that prompted me to place an order. Also there were no customs/import duties payable on the delivery, and arrived undamaged.
